Hinckley LRFC prepare for the biggest game in the clubs history as they travel to Harborough Town tonight.

After 38 games and a long season that started at the beginning of August, for the first time in the clubs history, Hinckley LRFC are getting ready for their first ever Step Four playoff semi final which kicks off tonight.

Hinckley rounded of the season on Saturday with a 1-0 win at home to Coventry Sphinx thanks to a late Ben Humphreys goal, securing themselves a fourth place finish, setting up the tie against Harborough.

Harborough finished off the season with a 6-0 dismantling of Loughborough Dynamo securing themselves third place.

Hinckley will be looking to book themselves a place in the final against either Anstey Nomads or Quorn, but will need to defeat a tough Harborough side who would have won the league if the hadn’t been deducted six points a couple of weeks ago.

When it comes to the head to head between the two sides, it finished 1-1 at Leicester Road Stadium back in September but then Harborough took all three points in a 2-0 win in the reverse fixture in February.

However, despite the scoreline, Hinckley were unlucky not to get anything out the game, with the better chances falling to the Knitters with Harborough’s two goals arguably coming against the run of play.

But in the playoffs anything can happen and Hinckley have got themselves a fantastic opportunity and a deserved opportunity to create even more history tonight.
