Development side into last 8...

The Senior Development side were handed a tough draw away at Bottesford who were previously unbeaten at home.

Sam Carroll came in for Harry Smith who was on first team duty and Captain Scott Worrad returned for Callum Buswell.

In difficult conditions, Hinckley started the game well controlling early possession with Josh King firing at the keeper from just outside the box. There was a brief scare to the Hinckley backline as Bottesford got in behind, the Bottesford winger putting a low cross across the face of the 6 yard box put nobody was there to tap home.

On 14 minutes the deadlock was broken. A Sam Carroll's free kick 25 yards out was tipped onto the bar however Harvey Heggs was there to prod home from 6 yards out. Shortly after, Josh King thought he had made it 2 with a neat finish however the linesman ruled that he was offside.

King did not have long to wait to open his account, on 23 minutes, good work down the left hand side from Carroll found King in the box, his first attempt from point blank range was saved however the rebound fell straight back to his feet and he made no mistake a second time.

Hinckley were now firmly in control and the Bottesford keeper had to be alert to tip a shot from distance over the bar. He could do nothing on 39 minutes when Isiah Dugba beat 3 players down the right hand side before feeding a ball into King who then played in Jack Warner who turned his marker before firing home from 12 yards.

On 42 minutes Bottesford reduced the arrears when a shot from distance bounced in front of Jeffrey in the Hinckley goal before going into the far corner. This didn't set Hinckley back and it was them who finished the half stronger.

On the stroke of half time, they made it 4-1. A King corner deep to the far post was met by Dan Winterbotham who poked home, Bottesford claiming there was an offside in the initial phase however those claims were waived away.

Hinckley were forced into an enforced change at HT. Ben Martin introduced for Bruno Nascimento. Good work down the left hand side played in Josh King however he fired over when well placed.

Changes were made early in the second half with Josh Sands & Max Geary introduced for Winterbotham & Carroll. Malik Boyce fresh from his loan at Barwell 21s then replaced top scorer Josh King as Hinckley were struggling to find any real cohesion in the game.

It came as no surprise on 71 minutes when Bottesford reduced the deficit. Worrad's header on the halfway line un-intentionally hit the back of the Bottesford player, playing in his team mate who fired home to make it 4-2. The game was now becoming stretched and Hinckley were struggling to find any rhythm after being in complete control whilst Bottesford were now pressing for another.

Luke Jeffrey had to be alert to cut out a low cross across goal whilst at the other end Dugba was getting some joy down the right hand side which resulted in Brogan Greenwood forcing the keeper into a save with his feet.

The end to end feel of the game was finally ended on 84 minutes when Hinckley extended their lead. Good work down the left hand side played in Max Geary who played a ball inside to Greenwood who got on the turn and fired into the top corner from 20 yards out.

Hinckley navigated the final 6 minutes comfortably to book their Quarter Final Place.
