After securing their spot in the playoffs last weekend following a 1-1 draw away to Cambridge City, Neil Lyne's side returned to Leicester Road Stadium, knowing a win would secure them a fourth placed finish and the highest ever in the clubs history.
A late Ben Humphreys goal sealed a 1-0 win for Hinckley in what was a quiet affair down Leicester Road.
Neither side failed to create many chances with either goalkeeper really being tested.
Harry Wakefield had Hinckley's first effort in the 26th minute, receiving the ball inside the box on a tight angle before smashing the ball into the side netting.
Then with the final kick off the first half, Wakefield forced the Coventry keeper to parry away with a diving save down to his left.
In the second half it was more of the same with both sides failing to threaten.
Jordan Burrows fired one inches over the bar in the 66th minute after receiving the ball from Callum Earls cross from the left at the back post.
Then in the 82nd minute, a free kick from Dom Brennan on the right hand side found a rising Ben Humphreys who met the ball with a bullet header into the back of the net.
Coventry failed to mount a late comeback, with Hinckley securing themselves in fourth place, with a trip to Harborough Town awaiting in the playoffs on Tuesday night.
