Neil Lyne takes his Hinckley side to Loughborough after going unbeaten in three games including the FA Trophy first qualifying round victory over Worcester City at the start of the month.
Loughborough have had a mixed start to life in step 4, after securing promotion by finishing 3rd last season and beating Skegness 7-0 in the playoff final, having won 2 and lost 3 of their opening 5 league games and sitting just outside the relegation zone in the NPL Midlands in 18th place, however its been a much more hectic start to the campaign for The Scholars having played 11 games, 2 more than The Knitters.
Loughborough qualified for the FA Trophy second qualifying by beating NPL East side Sheffield twice after they were forced to replay the original game after fielding an ineligible player in the first tie. This game took place this Tuesday and saw Loughborough run out 3-2 winners after originally beating them 1-0 in the initial staging.
This is Loughborough Students first FA Trophy campaign meanwhile Hinckley, in their third season in the FA Trophy, will be looking to equal their best run, a third qualifying round appearance in the 2022/23 season
