Hinckley took control from the get go and scored two first half goals to secure a vital 3 points in Loughborough this afternoon. Hinckley buoyed after a hard fought win in midweek took the game to their hosts, Read forcing an early save from the Loughborough keeper.
Armstrong was next to try his luck but fired over from 20 yards. Nuttall forced the first of a number of fantastic saves throughout the match. Kear got in down the right hand finding Nuttall who got a firm strike on the ball but saw it tipped over.
Loughborough then had their best chances of the half midway through. First Reason capitalised on a rare defensive mistake to force a corner with a deflected shot. From the resulting a corner a glancing header was cleared off the line then Twite couldn't get enough on his header to direct it goalwards.
Moments later Hinckley had the lead. Fantastic play down the right between Read, Burrows, Kear and Brennan set Brennan free squaring to Read to guide home from inside the 6 yard box.
Kear slid in Read just after the half hour but a combination of keeper and defender kept him out but it wasn't long before Hinckley got their second. Gill cut out a cross field pass and slid in Read who's shot beat the goalkeeper but struck the post, Aaron Nuttall was following In though to make it 0-2 to The Knitters.
Nuttall forced another good save from the Loughborough keeper which saw Hinckley head into the half time break with a 2-0 lead.
Loughborough made 4 changes at half time to try and stem the flow of Hinckley pressure but Humphreys got the first chance. His 20 yard effort was tipped over. Loughborough had a chance on 52 but Laban was quickly off his line to make the save.
The second half saw Loughborough with more of the ball however the chances fell to Hinckley. A counter attack just after the hour mark saw Brennan denied by another good stop. Read tried his luck from 30 yards which just went over and Kear and Brennan both forced saves in the closing stages.
A great win for Hinckley who move out of the relegation spots and might have won by more of it wasn't for a fantastic display from Skinner in the Loughborough goal. It's on to Tuesday night next where we host AFC Rushden and Diamonds.
