LRFC is celebrating five players reaching over 100 appearances for the club – a rare feat at this level and especially step 6 of the non-league football pyramid.
Last, but not least, is Jake Holt (age 24) from Coventry, who is that rare breed of both silky skilled and hard tackling midfielder with an eye for goal. Of all the current squad he has the most goals and appearances - 41 of them in 126 matches for LRFC to date.
Jake made his senior debut in the club’s very first fixture versus Hampton FC and has been a stalwart ever since. He says his best goal scored was lobbing the Coventry Copeswood keeper from 40 yards out and his best LRFC win is last season’s County Cup Final when he scored the opening goal in our 2-1 victory over Holwell Sports.
Jake’s most memorable moment in junior team football is winning the Leicestershire Youth Cup, while his favourite senior team achievement is making his first FA Cup appearance for the old Hinckley United.
His worst moment in football is missing a penalty in the FA Cup against Kirby Muxloe, while his biggest disappointment is LRFC not winning promotion in the last two seasons.
To get to know the young man better - and see what makes him tick outside of football - Jake took part in our fun Q&A session:
